The Reasonableness Review is an experiment in simplifying and popularising law in South Africa. Although we have one of the most lauded Constitutions in the world, it, and South African law more generally, has become inaccessible to most people.
Many of the articles published on this site originally appeared on GroundUp and other news outlets. These articles discuss current cases, past newsworthy judgments and new legislation. The ultimate goal of the Reasonableness Review is to provide a resource for understanding different facets of South African law for people who don’t have a law degree.
The Reasonableness Review believes that having a society informed about its rights and the law is an empowered society that can make a difference.
